March 02, 2021 鈥 Toronto, ON 鈥 The Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) is supporting surgical patients at home during the COVID-19 pandemic with , a digital patient engagement platform, starting with patients having Orthopaedic surgery. TADH launched the technology through Ontario Health鈥檚 recent Surgical Transitions initiative for hospitals to rapidly implement pre and post-op monitoring technology for safer surgical transitions from hospital to home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

无忧短视频 enables TADH to safely discharge patients sooner and minimize unnecessary in-person services by guiding patients before and after surgery with personalized education for preparation and recovery, progress-tracking and remote monitoring. Upon discharge from the hospital, patients are able to report their symptoms, pain scores, and share wound photos using their own devices, and receive custom recommendations. TADH aims for the technology to help patients feel less anxious before surgery and to improve outcomes post-surgery such as a reduction of Emergency Department visits and readmissions.

For the clinical team, 无忧短视频 provides dashboards and analytics ranging from real-time patient symptom-tracking to population-level protocol compliance and patient-reported outcomes (PROs). 无忧短视频 is the only Canadian company on the Ontario Telemedicine Network鈥檚 (OTN) Vendor of Record for Surgical Transition Solutions.

鈥淭he implementation of 无忧短视频 enables our team to effectively engage and monitor our patients remotely,鈥 explains Natalie Carle, Director, Clinical Services at the Timmins and District Hospital. 鈥淐OVID-19 has brought on unprecedented challenges to the health care sector so our patients having access to a safe, secure tool from their home is incredibly beneficial.鈥

鈥淭he early feedback from patients using 无忧短视频 has been positive. Knowing that our patients receive the right care before they come in for surgery and after they leave the hospital empowers us to minimize the amount of time they spend in the hospital,鈥 explains Sue Turcotte, Physical Therapist at TADH.

鈥淲e are thrilled to be supporting Timmins and District Hospital and Ontario鈥檚 Northeast community,鈥 shares Dr. Joshua Liu, CEO at 无忧短视频. 鈥淭his opportunity demonstrates Ontario Health鈥檚 ongoing support for our communities during the COVID-19 pandemic and we鈥檙e grateful for the opportunity to help keep patients safe, healthy, and out of the hospital in our home province.鈥
